Installing a new lock

In some cases, a lock cannot be fixed and will need to be replaced with a new one. If you need to order a new lock, please fill out this form. In order to replace a lock, access to the backplate is required. To replace and activate a smart lock you will need a new or replacement lock, a screwdriver, a smartphone with Bluetooth capabilities, the Mobile Manager app and Engage app. Continue with detailed instructions


Updating and troubleshooting locks

Depending on the issue you encounter, you may need to complete one of the following updating or troubleshooting techniques to restore lock access and functionality.

Update Key Access

Updating Key Access is one of the most important things you can regularly do to ensure your smart locks run smoothly and stay safe. If key fobs are added or removed from a door (ex: during times of staff or resident turnover), Updating Key Access allows you to digitally re-key a lock and add newly assigned key fobs. Updating lock firmware

Depending on the lock, you may need to update firmware with the Engage app or the Homebase Mobile manager app. Continue with detailed instructions

Factory Default Reset (FDR) a lock

You will only need to perform an "FDR" (Factory Default Reset) of your Schlage smart lock if all other troubleshooting steps have failed. Factory resetting a lock will restore your device to manufacturer settings. Continue with detailed instructions

Change lock batteries

Changing Schlage BE or FE lock batteries requires a Phillips head screwdriver and 4 AA alkaline batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries! Continue with detailed instructions


Onboarding thermostats and lights

Onboarding smart thermostats

You will need to install the Resideo Honeywell app to your smartphone (find the link under Getting Started at the top of this page) and locate your login credentials in the Implementation Tracker provided by Homebase. The thermostat will need to be installed on the wall to begin. Continue with detailed instructions

Onboarding smart light switch

You will need to install the Leviton app to your smartphone (find the link under Getting Started at the top of this page) and locate your login credentials in the Implementation Tracker provided by Homebase. The light switch will need to be installed on the wall to begin. Continue with detailed instructions
