Please note: If a lock appears to already have a dead battery, please click here for instructions on how to jump an unresponsive lock.

Lock Service Outage Tip
If your community is experiencing a temporary service interruption, you can often still unlock your doors by switching your phone into Airplane Mode.

How to Try This

  1. Open your phone’s Control Center or Settings.

  2. Turn Airplane/Flight Mode ON.

  3. Reopen the Quext app and attempt your unlock.

  4. Once you’re inside, turn Airplane Mode OFF to restore normal connectivity.

Good to Know
• This works only if your credential was already active on your device before the outage.
• Some lock types may still require network access for certain features.
• If Airplane Mode doesn’t help, your onsite team or Support can assist.

Device Compatibility Reminder

For the best experience with Quext Smart Access, your smartphone should be 10 years old or newer. Older devices often lack the hardware and operating system support required for secure Bluetooth communication and mobile credential storage.

If your phone is approaching or past that age range, you may notice slower performance, inconsistent unlocks, or difficulty installing the latest version of the app. Upgrading to a more recent device ensures full compatibility and more reliable door access.
