Homebase Resident - Lockout Troubleshooting

This article is for residents needing assistance when they are locked out of their unit.

Please note: If a lock appears to already have a dead battery, please click here for instructions on how to jump an unresponsive lock.

Full Sync

Performing a full sync through the Homebase Resident app can clear the line of communication to the lock and allow residents to re-engage their locks.

  1. Log into Homebase Resident app.

  2. Click on your unit and tap Update lock.

3. Tap Full Sync and allow the lock to update.

4. Once sync is complete, tap your key icon and engage your lock.

Clear app cache/data

Clearing app cache/data can significantly improve device performance by freeing up storage space, resolving issues, and preventing conflicts caused by outdated cached data.

iOS:

  1. Open Settings

  2. Tap General to manage your overall setup and preferences for iPhone.

  3. Tap iPhone Storage then select the app you want to clear

  4. Select the Homebase app and choose

    1. Offload App to clear some cache without deleting data or

    2. Delete App to completely remove the app and its associated data

Android:

  1. Open Settings

  2. Select Apps or Applications

  3. Tap See all or App info if you don’t see the app listed

  4. Tap Storage or Storage and cache

  5. Tap Clear cache to clear the app’s cache

  6. Tap Clear data or Clear storage to clear the app’s data and cache

Check app version

iOS

  1. Open the App Store

  2. Go to your profile icon at the top

  3. Scroll down to see a list of available updates

  4. If the Homebase app is listed there, it means a new version is available for download.

Android

  1. Open the Google Play Store

  2. Go to your profile icon

  3. Select Manage apps and device

  4. Under the Updates available you will see a list of apps with updates, including the option to “Update” next to the Homebase app.

    1. If there is no “Update” button, your app is currently on the latest version.

Confirm Bluetooth app permissions are enabled

iOS

  1. Open Settings

  2. Go to Privacy & Security

  3. Tap Bluetooth and check if the toggle next to Homebase is turned on.

  4. Once toggled on, be sure to check that your Bluetooth is also enabled

    1. Go to Settings

    2. Tap Bluetooth

    3. Toggle the Bluetooth switch to On

Android

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Scroll down and tap Apps

  3. Scroll down and tap the Muse app

  4. Tap Permissions or Nearby devices permissions

  5. Make sure nearby devices are allowed.
