The Impacts of an Energy Outage
In communities without a backup generator, severe weather outages can cause serious inconvenience for residents and staff members.
Battery-connected Bluetooth locks, like Schalge BE locks that are often used on units, will still function at full capacity in the event of an outage. However, if your community has smart locks that are connected to electricity, like Brivo locks, a loss of power will cause the locks to hold in the unlocked position. These locks are frequently used on main entrances and high-traffic common areas.
An energy outage will also cause a building-wide lapse in internet connection.

When you invest in an energy backup, you can expect to pay an upfront cost and a monthly fee. Homebase will monitor the battery life of your energy backup and the renewal of your contract in 3 years.
