How does it work?

Invites & Communication

  • Residents added to a future stay will receive an email instructing them to sign up for Homebase the moment their stay is created. This could be days or weeks ahead of their scheduled start date.

  • Onboarding emails will inform residents that WiFi is already on in their unit and they can choose a plan during sign-up.

Choosing a Plan

  • After a future resident completes sign-up, they will immediately see a prompt informing them that their upcoming unit has WiFi and they can choose a plan.

    • We also display a banner during the “prestay”, under the access countdown, with a call-to-action to choose a WiFi plan.

  • By default, residents should be set to “No Internet” (unless another default tier is requested by the property), and they can choose to upgrade. Charges are not applied until the stay starts, and charges are prorated if the stay starts in the middle of the month.

Things to Note

  • If a resident has a roommate and the roommate chooses a different plan, it will change the plan and overwrite the previous selection - just as it would in an active stay.

  • Residents cannot currently make payments or setup autopay until their stay starts, but this is an improvement we’d like to make in the future.

  • If a property only has one internet tier, residents will only have one option.
