Why create a manual stay if Quext is integrated with my PMS?
If resident data isn’t syncing as expected, you can manually create a stay to avoid delays.
Creating a stay manually allows the resident to be added immediately so access and services can be set up without waiting for the integration.
This is a temporary workaround. Once syncing resumes, records should reconcile automatically. To prevent duplicates or conflicts, rely on the integration whenever possible.
Unlink the Unit
First you’ll need to unlink the resident’s unit from the automation.
Navigate to your Automations tab and select the automation the unit is listed under.
Tap the Edit tab (to the right of where it says "Connect Units").
Locate the resident’s current unit.
Click Do not Link next to the unit that will be vacated.
This pauses syncing for that specific unit and ensures Homebase doesn’t overwrite your manual changes.
Tap Save.
Create the New Stay in Homebase
Once the unit is unlinked, you’ll need to set up the resident’s new stay in Homebase manually.
Go to the Residents & Stays tab.
Select Create Stay.
Tap the Unit the resident will be moving into.
Choose the access start & invitation day and click Create.
Assign the resident to the stay by clicking, "Add resident."
Enter an email address for the resident, select the resident, and tap Add.
Confirm the Resident's Stay is Active
With the stay created, the transfer will be completed when the resident Access start date/time is triggered within Homebase.
Re-link the Unit in Homebase
Now that the new stay is established and active in Homebase, you can reconnect your automation.
Return to your Automation tab and select your automation.
Locate the newly assigned unit.
Tap Link Unit.
The integration will automatically re-sync on its next sync cycle.
